8 Must Have Money Saving Apps

Before I get started talking about awesome deals and how I find great freebies, I want to talk about money saving apps that everyone looking to save money should have on their smartphone. These apps are great tools to help you find the best deals, save money and even make money. Everyone that I mention, I personally use. If you have one or a few that I haven't mentioned, please feel free to comment below. I would love to learn some new apps to try out!

1. Retail Me Not

Retail Me Not is one of the most well known savings app. While the notifications can get a bit annoying when your settings are on to ding when you're near a participating retailer, this app has literally saved me hundreds of dollars. There are over 500,000 different retailers on this app, so you're sure to find a few you will love!

Some of my favorite retailer that participate are:
  • Kohls
  • Macy's
  • Amazon
  • Bath & Body Works
  • Target
  • Ulta
  • Bed Bath & Beyond

Looking for the latest coupon code? Here are the latest, thanks to Retail Me Not!

2. SlickDeals

If you haven't heard of SlickDeals, then you need to go check it out right now! This is a user based sharing platform where users will share the hottest sales, deals, freebies and finds out. This is a great resource to find the best deal on home electronics, clothing, toys, cell phone plans and a lot more. If you are looking for a good deal, this is the place to go!

3. Price Blink

Price Blink isn't an app for your cell phone, but a must on your computer and iPad, if you're an online shopper. This browser add-on will notify you if there is a lower price elsewhere when you're looking to buy an item online. According to the company, the average user saves between $17 to $20 for every $100 they spend. That is a pretty good savings when you're looking to buy big ticket items like TV's and video game consoles.

When buying food, beauty and household products, I always make sure to check Coupons.com for a printable coupon. This is a great website that allows you to print 2 coupons per computer for everyday items.  This website has saved me thousands of dollars over the years and has helped me cut my grocery budget by about 50%.

5. Favado

Favado will gather local sales and match them with coupons. It's a huge time saver for busy people who just want to find the best deals possible without driving all over to get them. I also like that this app has a feature that lets you build a shopping list. Never leave your list at home again!

Price Grabber is a great app that allows you to scan an items barcode and searches for a better price at a different retailer. It also as a feature that alerts  you when the price drops of an item you have your eye on. This is another app that I use on a regular basis and have saved hundreds of dollars with.

If you're a Walmart shopper and want to get the lowest advertised price, using the Walmart Savings Catcher is the way to go. After you check out and receive your receipt from Walmart, you will use the app to scan the QR code on the receipt. The app will search all of your local retailers and if they find a better deal, they will give you the difference back.

Honestly, I don't know why I am putting the Cartwheel app at the end of my list. We will just say I am because I am saving the best for last! I love Target and I love this app! There is new savings added all the time and you will only get them when you have this app and have the cashier scan your personalized code.

These are the 8 money saving apps that I have installed on my phone at this moment. There are several more, but these 8 are my favorite.

  2. I use a few of these apps. I used to use Ibotta on a regular basis but it got complicated to submit receipts so I gave that up. I also like shopkick too.
